FAQ

Most people charge for an investment course. Why is your course free?

I strongly believe that investing is an essential life skill that should be available to everyone.  While not everyone is in a financial situation that allows them to invest, I believe there shouldn't be any financial roadblocks in the way to prevent people from learning about the importance of investing or the strategies used to create and manage a portfolio.  I use ads and affiliate links to support the website so that it can remain free for everyone.

Are you a financial advisor or an investment advisor?

No, I am a nerd that likes to learn about investing.  As such, you should not take any of this general educational information as personalized investment advice.  Do your research and consult with the necessary professionals who are familiar with your personal financial and legal situation.

Can I send you my portfolio and get your advice on my allocation?

I would love to help you, but the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has strict rules about providing personalized investment advice if you are not a registered advisor.  Many brokerages provide sample portfolios that you may consider, or you can consult with a registered advisor or certified financial planner for personalized advice. My sincerest apologies.

I do not live in the United States. Does the investment information apply to me?

The general principles of diversification, risk tolerance, and timeline are universal.  However, the investment accounts, funds, and tax information may be different for people outside of the United States.
